Holger Henrik Herholdt Drachmann, Danish painter,
poet, and playwright, born 9 Oct 1846, died 14 Jan 1908. His brother
was linguist Anders Bjørn Drachmann and
their father was physician Anders Georg Drachmann (1810-1892). Holger
married for the second time in 1879 to translator Emmy Culmsee, divorced ten years later.
Their son was economist and writer Povl
Drachmann.
Holger Drachmann's poetry was early recognized by critic Georg Brandes.
